About Me

Hi, I'm Sarah..


I'm 27, a wife & mom. I'm the owner and head baker of Sugared Up located in New Haven, Michigan. I grew up in Oscoda County, met my husband online, and made the move to New Haven in 2020. Some of my hobbies include fine arts, traveling, and outdoor activities during the summer. 

Where it started..

As a kid, I always enjoyed helping my mom bake. Some of her favorites were cookies, lemon meringues, zucchini bread & brownies.. She passed away in 2012, so me being the oldest child in the home & long days of my dad being at work, I was in the kitchen a lot. Now in my adult life.. when I bake for friends and family, they've always encouraged me to take the leap and open a bakery..

So here we are..

I finally decided to push myself to make the effort to get up and going! As of February 2026, I work a full-time job outside of my home on top of everything that comes with running a home bakery. It's not easy.. a lot of long days, nights, so many hours put into every aspect that makes a bakery, a bakery. 

My "why?"..

In middle school, I learned about entrepreneurship. My dad has his own company as well. I've always loved the idea of being able to create my own schedule and be paid for doing something I love & enjoy. I've thrown many entrepreneurial job ideas around.

Hopes for the future..

I hope that the work put in is worth it. Of course there's lots of "what ifs", but if you don't try, you'll never succeed. I believe in my products & am excited to serve this community that I've come to love!
